Traveling and Taxes

My weeks have been jam packed with work! I recently took a new position at work, which has called for quite a bit more travel than my last. (My last position required ZERO travel.) So, I've been trying to wrap my brain around being a business traveler. So far, I'm not doing very well. I just got back from a four day business trip to NJ for which I packed two weeks worth of clothing, checked my bad and refused to rent a car and was forced to have a driving service haul me all over. Can you tell I'm a newbie? I have 6 days to recover before I'm back on my next flight to California. As much fun as I thought jet-setting would be, it's hard to leave home, my husband, puppies and just my normal routines. Not to mention the time zone changes are KILLING ME. For starters, I'm not the biggest fan on flying, so when you add in all the other factors, it doesn't make for the greatest of experiences. I've been secretly Googling how to conquer your fears of flying, but but besides some breathing techniques, it's really only made me realize I'm a control freak, so, not so helpful. :( Any of you guys frequent business travelers? Any advise for little ole me?

In other news, it's TAX TIME!!!! I LOVE tax time. Of course, now I will more than likely jinx myself this year, but tax time means paying off debt, purchasing items I've been drooling over and just money in my pocket!!!!!! Who doesn't like that. And even though my Father instilled in me the good old saying of, Never count your chickens before they hatch," I'm counting them! We're really hoping this year's return will get us as close to half way towards our new hardwood floors. And that is EXCITING. What are you tax return plans, anything good?

Bandwagon

One of the many topics you'll hear me talk about it weight loss. I will spare you the saga, bottom line is I am overweight and would like to do something about it. So along with millions of other Americans, we jumped on the join a gym in the New Year bandwagon.Tonight I attended my 4th Zumba class and it has been so much fun. I was a little timid at first, more embarrassed really as I have a lot of wobbly bits to shake. But it has been a blast. I take classes at the Y.M.C.A, so the class is full of a wide range of ages, size and shapes. It's been a challenge for sure and I definitely can't complete all the moves just yet, or get through the entire hour without a break, but it's a vast improvement from my daily couch/t.v. routine. More importantly, I hope I can keep it up!

Support system? Why, yes I do. Vance joined the gym with me and has been going with at the same time and doing his own thing in the gym. Shocker, Zumba really isn't his cup of tea. I also got my sister to join and she comes to class with me when works allows and I also swindled a co-worker/friend to join as well!!! Did I mention I was in sales? So I'm excited to report such a great start to the new years and such a great start to our New Year's resolution.

What about you? Any resolution's you've started working on? What about any fellow Zumba goers????

Introductions Are In Order

Hi there! Glad you've stumbled across my new blog. I've been a chronic blog starter/stopper over the past several years. I've had a wedding blog, a marriage blog, a cooking blog and I've come to realize that rather than ramble on about one specific topic, I'd rather ramble on about anything and everything my little heart desires. I have been married for over a year and a half to my husband Vance and have have two adorable puppies, Maggie and Gator. My little sister, Kellie, and pup, Lola, currently reside with us and help make our house a home! We bought the home we live in just last year, a little 3/2 one story, and have been there a little over 6 months. I am OBSESSED with renovating and decorating. And if you're at all curious about my visions for my dream home, follow me on Pinterest. I'm by no means a DIYer or a designer, a crafter, baker, painter, stylist or any other fun and exciting professional for that matter, but I like to pretend to be and will share it all, and more, here with you on this blog.

Enjoy.
